Also, first day of Advent, huzzah!

Because holidays make me happy and women are awesome, I'm stealing this meme from

100 female characters I love. )

Hmm
I hope my American flisties had a lovely Thanksgiving. :)

Almost done with Christmas shopping, just three more to buy.

Also, just seen Nativity! with Em and it is insanely cute and funny. I recommend it heartily.

Hmph
Nineteen doesn't feel so very different to eighteen. I'm just dreading turning twenty next year.

Though I will say that Jedward getting kicked off the X Factor was the best birthday present I could have gotten. :D

Ugh
My other rabbit died today at home and once again I am crying in my dorm-room, unable to say goodbye because my bunny is miles away. And I'm nineteen on Monday, my childhood is slipping away. It never stops raining in bloody Manchester.

My happy-holidays mode has been sorely interrupted. I am going to be a Grinch for a few days.

I think I'm ready for Eleven now, please. Ten is really starting to creep me out.

Louis Walsh is a jackass. And Simon has no one to blame but himself after the stunt he pulled last week.

Bye, Jamie. You were my favourite and it's laughable that Lloyd and Jedward outlasted you.

But Morgause is so many kinds of epic ... I can't even.

Love her.

Mum's coming up to see me tonight.

We're going to go see Beauty and the Beast at the Manchester Opera House and then she's sleeping over in my dorm room. And tomorrow Dad takes us both home.

I love Mama Indes. <3

With proud thanksgiving, a mother for her children,
England mourns for her dead across the sea.
Flesh of her flesh they were, spirit of her spirit,
Fallen in the cause of the free.

They went with songs to the battle, they were young,
Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted;
They fell with their faces to the foe.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

They mingle not with their laughing comrades again;
They sit no more at familiar tables of home;
They have no lot in our labour of the day-time;
They sleep beyond England's foam.

As the stars that shall be bright when we are dust,
Moving in marches upon the heavenly plain;
As the stars that shine in the time of our darkness,
To the end, to the end, they remain.

Fuck you, Simon Cowell, you slimy, arrogant hack. I'm sorry I ever defended you.

Also, Hull FC are filthy, cheating scum.

I hope everyone had a nice Bonfire Night.

I've seen stuffed guys on the streets in my home-town this week, which made me wierdly happy because I haven't seen guys around since I was tiny. Everytime I saw one, I gave the kids who made it half the change in my purse, because I'm soft like that.

I haven't really done anything this Bonfire Night except watch fireworks displays for free from my bedroom window but me and my family are going to the big Clough Hall bonfire on Saturday night. We went every year when I was a mini-Indes but it hasn't been held in years because of excessive early November rain. Fairground rides, fireworks, toffee apples and nougat ftw.

How the hell did I not know this clip existed until now?

If you ever wanted to hear Jude Law's dramatic reading of Poker Face, click above. I believe Christopher Walken has also done his own version.

Wrote up my Annual Epic Holiday Checklist today, as I always do on November 1st. It may be early by most people's standards but I always need plenty of time to get everything that I want done before Christmas Eve. I'm quite proud to say that that I had all my present shopping and card-writing done before December 1st last year.

Efficient!Indes, my friends, is a force to be reckoned with.

Every year I try to do something good for my fellow man in December. This year, living in one of England's biggest cities for more than half the week, I'm going to look into volunteering at the soup kitchens this winter and since Manchester has a lot of theatres, I think I'm going to be saving up my HB wages for pantomime tickets.

In summation, I really love this time of year. *Prays for snow*

Home for Reading Week and have big plans. Namely, a scary movie marathon with Em, Heidi and Josh. Pizza, popcorn, demons, vampires and little Halloweeny fondant cupcakes. Yum.

Born of Hope, a Lord of the Rings film about the Dunedain, with Arathorn/Gilraen, baby Aragorn, teenage Halbarad, Elladan and Elrohir rearing their heads sometimes and a few OCs. Maia makes me think of a Dunedain version of my own Indes, orphaned by an  Orc raid and adopted into a family far from her own village and Elgarain seems kind of awesome.

*Coughs* Not an Elf person in general, Legolas and Haldir never did anything for me, but the twins are pretty hot.

Handed in  my first lab report on hypochondriasis, half-way through carrying out a pretty interesting experiment into memory recall. :)

But so ready to go home for Reading Week and X-Factor with Mum and the Annual Epic Halloween Scary Movie Marathon with Heidi and Em and visiting all my family. Ten days at home in Stoke sounds good.

Met my nephew today. Held him, kissed him, talked ridiculous baby-burble to him, played with his tiny feet and tiny ears and tiny nose and cooed over his every sigh, hiccup and funny little expression.

He is the most beautiful baby who was ever born and I love him so much my heart feels like bursting.
